FLOOR 3 ::: SPACE C-2
Amazing!
Keisha came out to help me on the last two days of the installation, because she's super awesome. I wouldn't have been able to get everything up there if it weren't for her intelligent thinking and calm attitude.
I have 33 original works of art up on my wall.

Sticky Rice #26

OMG! This comic took forever to color, but it sure was entertaining. That the best looking watermelon I've ever digitally drawn. I would have had it up sooner, but I had a migraine last night, have you ever had one of those? I can count on one hand the number of times I've had one. They're horrible...

The Book of Izz - A Colaborative Project with Cristina Montejo

My good friend (and guerrilla publisher) Cristina Montejo and I have embarked on a Mail-Art Project that we're calling The Book of IZZ.
The concept is simple: Each of us will work using the same book and add pages to the story. We will be able to add to the story two pages at a time and when we finish our additions, we will mail (or otherwise hand-off) the book so the next pages can be added.
Making a story is complicated: The basic story centers around a character named IZZ who lives in a world that is created by his imagination. The comic will be a sort of creation myth or maybe not, we'll have to see how it develops.
The artwork has no rules: We can use any media, any style, and do whatever we want, as long as the story keeps going.
Here are the first two pages made by me -

About Me
- JL grillo
- Washington, DC, United States
- I am an experimental artist - writing poetry, illustrating urban-inspired designs, and collecting ideas everywhere I go. Over the past four years I’ve been an avid art-journaler – which is to say I’ve been keeping a journal that is loaded with illustration, narratives, collage, and just about every other kind of visual you could imagine. I create the pages in my journal over the course of several hours, or days, or weeks depending on what kind of inspiration possess me at the time. For me, the most interesting thing about the creation of art is the unexpected.
